My son recently attended camp, and following, you will find my parent review to help you decide if this type of camp is right for your child.

For the last two years, my son has attended British Soccer Camp with Challenger sports. You can read about the skills that your child will learn at British Soccer Camp or my review of the British Soccer Camp program to learn a bit more about it. But this year, we decided to try a different soccer camp through Challenger Sports—International Soccer Camp.
International Soccer Camp
With International Soccer Camp, my son had two coaches from different countries—Brazil and Ireland. Most of the time, Andre, the Brazilian coach, worked with the older kids, which is the group my son was in. The soccer camp allowed kids from ages 6-16, so the younger kids went with coach Shane most of the time. This was really nice because it allowed the coaches to work with the kids more at the skill level that they are at.
The style of play can be different for each country, so it is fun to see what the various coaches focus on. With British Soccer Camp there was more of a focus on foot skills, whereas, this year, there was definitely more of a focus on ball handling and shooting.

What will your kid learn at Challenger International Soccer Camp?
The camp was structured as a half day or full day option. Half day was three hours and full day is six hours, with an hour lunch break. If you stay for the full day, you will need to pack your own lunch. We only chose the half day option, however, most of the kids left after the half day camp concluded, so staying for the full day would probably give quite a bit of individualized instruction because there were a lot less kids.
There were about 12 kids in the older group that my son was in. Each day, there were drills to work on different skills, games to reinforce skills, and a scrimmage. And because they were split into the different age groups, the practice and competition was competitive—and fun!
Educational and fun
This is probably one of the most important reasons that I love taking my son to Challenger Sports soccer camps— it is fun and he learns a lot. Of course, my son already loves to play soccer, but the way these camps are designed is to be encouraging and make the kids want to learn more and keep trying different things. So, yes, they at practicing skills, but rather than just repetitious skills training, they play games and have friendly competitions to practice.
