Our children have attended Camp Galileo for the past 2 years, for all 6 weeks offered. We absolutely love this camp, and are so happy to have found it. We see our kids totally engaged and full of pride each summer. The teachers and staff here create an experience that embraces the individuality of the children, brings out their bravery and confidence - and truly allows them be innovative. This is built on each week, and I see it taking hold more deeply each year. I think the repeated experiences gain traction for the kids. When camp ends, my heart sinks just a little because despite being part of an amazing school district, my kids never quite beam with pride and bravery at school the way they do at this camp.
Although the camp has a science and art focus, it's not a typical classroom experience. These kids are having a ton of fun whether during project time or free time. My kids love camp and are excited to go every day.
The teachers and staff are experienced, fun and intelligent. They seem to know exactly how to make this come together. They model individuality, pride and bravery, creating the perfect environment for kids to do the same. They are able to bring out the best in both of my kids - one introverted and one extroverted, with totally different learning styles. Clearly the organization prepares their staff and teachers well and sincerely cares that the camp experience matches with the mission stated on the website. I'd say they have accomplished that! A rare find.
